Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or equivalent under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Must hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT / SCVT in the relevant trade.
Age Limit (as on cut-off date)
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
- PwBD – 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen – 10 years + service rendered
Stipend and Benefits
- Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- On successful completion of training, apprentices become eligible for preference in future railway recruitments (20% reservation in Group D posts).

RRC ER Apprentice Selection Process
Selection is completely merit-based. No exam or interview will be conducted.
Merit List Formation:
- Average of marks in 10th (minimum 50%) and ITI Trade will be considered.
- Example: If a candidate scores 80% in 10th and 90% in ITI → Merit Score = (80 + 90) ÷ 2 = 85%.
Document Verification (DV):
- Shortlisted candidates will be called in a ratio of 1.5 times the vacancies.

- A medical certificate issued by a government-authorized doctor (minimum Assistant Surgeon rank) must be produced at the time of verification.
